Record
Comments: This one-sided,
flexi-disc record was recorded live at Disneyland in 1955.
Several variation of these
exist as any Disneyland guest of that time could record
their own voice singing along to The Ballad Of Davy Crockett
at a special Voice-O-Graph recording booth in the Wonderland
Music Shop on Main Street USA. The recording
time is usually just over one minute long.
The souvenir
record came with an attractive envelope that
boasted Disneyland in a large font on the front with some theme
park illustrations in the bottom left corner. The envelope
measures just slightly under 7 1/2 inches square, while the record is approximately
6 inches round.
At least two
different pressing were made. They are titled Davy
Crockett And His Friend, where Fess Parker's voice can be
heard with the park guests, and Donald Duck
And His Friend. Some of the Donald Duck records will have Mickey Mouse on the recording instead of Donald.
The script is
about the same for all of these recordings. The guests are
asked a few questions like what is there name and where are they
from, then they are asked to sing along. Each session ends
with a question or two about their day in the park.
Subject
Notes: Disneyland first
